Shadowflame Assassin
The Shadowflame Assassin combines the Impact of Heavy Degen
Pressure, Moderate Melee Pressure, and Moderate Spikes to
overwhealm an opponent. The combination of damage techniques can
often overwhelm many different healing/protection techniques. The
build is effective in RA, but most effective in CM/AB battles. This
build also works well in PvE.
Attributes and Skills
Equipment
- Max Shrouded Armor, Critical Mask, 2 X Rune of Attunement (35
Energy max)
- 1)Fiery Daggers of Enchanting 2) Zealous Daggers of
Enchanting
Usage
- When the battle Starts Cast Conjure Flame.
- Begin combat by casting Mark of Rodgert followed by Aura of
Displacement.
- Immediately follow up with your attack chain.
- Your target should now be burning, bleeding, and have a deep
wound.
- If you are not heavily pressured continue attacing to apply
more pressure.
- Black Lotus Strike will keep your energy at a very manageable
level
- If you get pressured or hit 1/2 hp cancel Aura of Displacement
and then activate Feigned Neutrality to heal.
Counters
- Normal melee counters will cause difficulties. This includes on
attack hexes such as Spiteful Spirit or Empathy, The blind
condition, and Evasion/Dodge skills.
- Heavy degen will counter your main form of healing
- Kiting can be effective against this build since there is no
snare or speed boost. In RA this can be frustrating, in CM/AB your
primary targets should be NPC's anyway so this shouldn't be too
much of a problem.
Variants
- For CM/AB the resurrection signet is unneccesary. In this case
you can bring Dark Escape for added protection, or Impale for an
additional 100 earth damage on the spike.
- If conditions are prevailent and causing problems, signet of
toxic shock can be replaced with Signet of Malice. This will allow
you to trade the spike impact for some condition removal.
Notes
This builds major strength is the ability to find holes in a
monks defense. By stacking 2 Hexes, 4 conditions, and moderate
melee damage you can usually overwhealm a monks healing capacity.
For maximum effectiveness try to catch the monk off guard as much
as possible by randomly switching targets whenever Mark of Rodgert
can be recast (usually starting with monk and changing back to the
monk every 2nd or 3rd cycle). This can cause the monk to waste a
key spell which can often bring about an otherwise difficult
kill.
Energy can be tight Remember to swap weapons between
combos!!!
