This build is used to make a successful run from Ascalon City to Lions Arch with some
ease.
Attributes and Skills
Equipment
Usage
- Ascalon
City --> Yak's Bend - When exiting Ascalon City, use Dark
Escape and Storm Chaser constantly, using dash for an extra speed
boost. You shouln't need to use any of your defense skills until
you get to the Flash Gargoyle's, when near them use any of
these five skills in this order, Shadow Refuge->Troll
Unguent-> Heart of Shadow for a major healing boost, or use Dark
Escape->Feigned Nutrality to tank your way through. Make sure
you keep the speed boosts up always. If in desprate need or are
willing to take the chance, since it makes the run a whole lot
faster, use Shadow Form, and keep your speed boosts up. When it
ends use these skills in order, Heart Of Shadow->Shadow
Refuge->Troll Unguent and if recharged, Dark Escape and Feigned
Nutrality. That should give you a major increase in health when
pulled off and should allow you to continue the run.
- Yak's Bend
to Beacon's
Perch - The run from here gets suprisingly easier as there are
no Flash Gargoyle's slowing you down and hexing you. There is,
however, Ice
Golem's which use the skill Deep Freeze to slow you down. Fortunatly, it
dosn't last long at all and poses little threat to the run. There
is one part that almost requires you to use Shadow Form to pass
them without severely risking the run, and that is where the Ice
Golems clump up together with a couple of other enemies at the only
bridge in the Iron Horse Mine, which just spells trouble.
But fortunatly, because of the beloved Shadow Form, we can make it
past there with ease and heal with your regeneration skills. After
that there are a few Stone Summit Scout's along the way, and
some in Traveler's Vale, which I forgot to mention,
that will cripple you. The rest of the run is basic to Beacons is
basic with the occasional Ice Golem's and Scouts along the way and
should pose no problems to you.
- Beacon's Perch to Lion's Arch - this is
where it gets a bit hard when in the Mountain Troll Caves, formally known as
Griffon's
Mouth. There is a bit of the cave in Deldrimor Bowl
though they are not hard to get past. The best way to dodge them is
find an opening and burst through using Dash, following up by any
other of the running skills. You should not need to use any
regeneration skills when in the cave and DO NOT use Shadow Form, it
is not a good idea and do not need it anyways. If you get body
blocked by the Trolls, use Heart of Shadow and run away to freedom,
using Shadow Refuge if needed.
- Scoundrel's Rise - The hardest part of the
whole run in my opinion, full of slow-down hexes and degeneration.
You will definatly want to use Shadow Form here, if you don't it
will take like 10 minutes to get through there, since the slow-down
hexes and degen hexes are coming at you and you having to stop and
heal. Otherwise it is very quick to get out to North
Kryta Province when using Shadow Form and should not be the
place of your worries. But always be prepared for the worst. When
in the North it is pretty simple, just keep up the running
sequence, use regen skills when needed, and be wary of those fire
imps, which do quite the degen on you, so make sure to either use
Shadow Form, or use Shadow Refuge and Troll Unguent.
Counters
- Major slow down hexes every second and major damage with
it.
- Continuous knock-downs
- Major interruption
(Note: None of these counters are on the way to Lions Arch.)
Variants
You can remove a skill like Shadow Refuge for Deadly Paradox
and add 3 points into Deadly Arts if you want to use Shadow Form almost
continuously throughout the run.
Notes
When needing to use Troll Unguent, make sure you use Shadow
Refuge first, because it gives you cover regeneration for 4
seconds, more if using the Totem Axe or Rajazan's Fervor, which is
enough time to cast Troll Unguent without losing your health regen,
alowing you to survive longer, since Troll Unguent lasts 10
seconds.
