A-W Way of the ChopperThis PvP build, with a high Critical Strikes, can deal massive amounts of damage with a tremendous chance to critical with the Assassin Elite, Way of the Assassin. Could prove to be good in PvE, but I haven't tried it yet.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Axe Mastery | 11 |
| Critical Strikes | 10 + 1 + 3 |
| Tactics | 10 |
Weapons - For starters, a 15 enchanted or in stance axe, such as Chaklin's Axe. Totem Axe wouldn't hurt either, but Chaklin's Axe is better for higher damage. Armor - An Assassin mask with + 1 to Critical Strikes, best Vigor Rune possible. For insignias, i have found that a mixture of Radiant and Survivor insignia. Place the ones you need most on the chest and legs, and put the other ones on the rest of your armor.
Remember, Assassin's jobs are to quickly kill 'squishy' targets, so don't get yourself killed by being the first to run into battle. Stay back and activate Sharpen Daggers. When you find your target, activate Critical Eye and Way of the Assassin. To start off, use Wild Blow to get a critical in early to inflict bleeding. Then, follow up with Malicious Strike to do some damage and inflict another critical hit. Spam those skills until target is dead, and use Critical Chop to have a chance to interrupt key skills.
Anti-Melee builds, i.e. Spiteful Spirit and Blind. Enchantment removal can hurt too, but would not shut down this build, since Malicious Strike would not always be able to do more damage and you couldn't inflict bleeding any more.
Build:A/P Critical Harpooner If you wanted to use a sword instead of an axe for some more focused damage, here's a variant:
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Swordsmanship | 11 |
| Critical Strikes | 10 + 1 + 3 |
| Tactics | 10 |
For the optional slot, either use Hamstring to catch fleeing foes or Distracting Blow for a constant interruption. Gash could be used to to inflict Deep Wound but Wild Blow would make you lose all adrenaline, so you would have to cut back on its usage.
Weapons - 15 while enchanted sword, or if you don't want to build your own swords, here are some choices for some green swords: Either Reaper's Blade or Forgotten Sword. If you can handle Vampiric weapons, use Grognar's Sword
With Critical Eye and Way of the Assassin activated, you will have a 52% chance to critical hit at 14 Critical Strikes
