The “Zealous Tank” dervish uses the Wind Prayer's elite Zealous Vow to have an abundance of energy for spamming the attack skills. This build is very easy to use, and only requires the Nightfall Campaign, and the ability to maintain enchantments. With Dwayna's Touch this build gives you the ability to heal hurt party members, or yourself if you are under lots of attack pressure. The only downfall to this build is its disability to remove conditions. (You can't put everything in one build). See the Variants Section for important possible variants.

Equipment

• A full set of max armor with Radiant Insignias.
• Two major runes and a minor rune are needed, Superior Vigor rune would help, but is not necessary.
• Cruel, Sundering, or Vampiric Scythes of Enchanting or Fortitude are preferred

Usage

• Cast and maintain Zealous Vow and Mystic Vigor
• Right before you engage your foe, cast Heart of Fury
• Crippling Sweep is your snare, use it on fleeing foes, or as soon as you start the chain
• Victorious Sweep and Mystic Sweep are your main attack skills, use them as much as you can
• If your energy bottoms out, all you have to do is hit one foe, and it will be back up between 5 and 10
• *Note* Heart of Fury is not necessary, and this build will work fine without it, though it adds to the energy management of this build

Counters

• Standard Melee counters, mostly hexes and conditions (Poison, Burning, Dazed, Deep wound, and Weakness do not really affect this build)
• Mesmer shutdown skills like Empathy or Diversion and massive health degeneration from either Mesmers or Necromancers can shorten the life of this dervish
• Enchant removal of sorts can also weaken this build, but since Zealous Vow has a relatively short recharge rate, it shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Variants

• There is a major variant to this build that includes simply switching attribute points around to create 14 Wind Prayers instead of 10, (giving you 5 energy per hit instead of 4). Either way works perfectly fine.
• Harrier's Grasp instead of Crippling Sweep is entirely your preference, I prefer to use Crippling Sweep because it is more ‘concrete’ than an enchantment
• If you are confident in your energy supply Chilling Victory can be brought for large bursts of damage.
• Balthazar's Rage can be used in place of Heart of Fury if you feel you need extra healing
• Featherfoot Grace can be used if you would also like the speed boost, and condition removal. This is what i sometimes switch off to after a few losing streaks.
• Many other useful Wind Prayers skills can be added into this build, such as Whirling Charge for when Heart of Fury wears off, or even to replace it
