The Me/Rt Fast Cast Spiker is a PvP oriented build that combines Fast Casting with Channeling Magic to cause a quick, potent spike that also has low down time. While the Fast Cast Spiker does not actually utilize any Mesmer skills, it uses the accepted premise of using Mesmer primary to speed up an otherwise slow spike.

As Mesmer primary, the build will deal about 400 damage over a period of about 4.85 seconds with reasonable frequency. A Ritualist primary would demonstrate higher damage, about 475, but over a much longer period of 7.25 seconds. A Ritualist primary would be more suited to PvE where longer casting times are usually less important.

• Weapons are unimportant since Mighty Was Vorizun should be active at all times

Usage

• Preparation:
  • Cast Weapon of Quickening on yourself (Re-apply as necessary)
  • Cast Mighty Was Vorizun (Re-apply as necessary)
  • Cast Bloodsong (Re-cast as necessary)
• Spike:
  • Cast Channeled Strike -> Spirit Burn -> Gaze from Beyond -> Wielder's Strike
  • If necessary, follow up with a second Channeled Strike/Spirit Burn

Counters

• Premature Destruction Death
• Protective Spirit (Or Similar Skill)
• Interruption of Key Skills (Ex. Destruction)
• Energy Denial

Variants

• Stolen Speed for a faster spike.
• Mantra of Recovery for less downtime.
  • In the two above cases, Wielder's Strike should be replaced with Lamentation
• Destructive was Glaive.
  • In the above case, Mighty Was Vorizun should be replaced by a Weapon Spell or alternatively, Wielder's Strike should be replaced by Lamentation.
• Spirit Rift in place of Channeled Strike for even more damage.
  • In the above case, Binding Chains should replace Mighty Was Vorizun to prevent kiting.
