This farming build
is a a variation of the Invincible Monk - Build:Mo/any Spirit Bonder build, its purpose is to farm
the Mighty
Grawl in the northernmost portion of Talus Chute, with the
hopes of getting the unique Ice Breaker hammer.
Attributes and Skills
Equipment
With the above equipment you should have approximately 566
health, varying depending on the vigor rune used.
Usage
- Start in Droknar's Forge and exit to Talus Chute
- Cast Balthazar's Spirit on yourself
- Follow the path on the map to the first group of Barbed Grawl/Mighty Grawl
- You will run into several groups of Avicara and possibly Mountain Troll's
along this path, the trolls are not a problem, but for each Avicara
group you encounter, cast Protective Spirit and Spirit Bond, run into
the group, and sprint ahead of them when you are about in the
middle of the group, if they are still following, use Rush to completely lose aggro.
- If there are many Avicara groups blocking the main path, take
the alternate path as noted on the Image.
- Rarely there will be an Avicara Guile that will harass you by stripping
spirit bond, when you notice this simply recast it and sprint/rush
out.
- Before you engage the grawl cast Retribution on yourself, then wait for your
energy to regen and cast Protective Spirit and Spirit Bond
- Aggro as much as you are comfortable with, then cast/recast Shield
of Judgment and Smite Hex whenever they recharge to deal damage,
while constantly maintaining Spirit Bond and Protective
Spirit.
Variants
If you are comfortable with running past the Avicara with only
Sprint, it can be helpful
to change Rush to Balanced
Stance, to ensure you do not get knocked down while casting Shield
of Judgment.
Notes
- The most difficult part of this is the run to the grawl, it is
relatively easy when you have passed the Avicara, most of the
groups will drop very quickly (one cast of SoJ) with one exception,
if you happen to run into a group with the boss Kaia Wupwup, he will heal and resurrect making
the battle take much longer with this group. If you run into him it
is advisable to check the grawl to see if any are holding the Ice
Breaker, and if not just sprint/rush away.
- You will encounter several bosses in the grawl groups you will
be fighting, it is recommended to simply sprint/rush away from
these bosses when the normal grawl are killed.
- If you are using the recommended smiting offhand, you may wish
to recast-cancel retribution until you receive the +1 smiting
benefit to deal another point of damage whenever you are hit.
- Do not stand near the Barbed Grawl or Grawl Crones, they will use Chilblains to remove your
enchantments.
- There can sometimes be a problem with being knocked down while
casting Shield of Judgment, see the variants section if you run
into this often.
- You can also have the chance to get a Frozen Fan from this run
by killing the Barbed Grawls in the same manner (this takes
longer and is tougher when the warriors are not hitting on you, as
they will generally not attack until the Mighty Grawl are already
dead).
