Forum Link Code:N-Me Failure Farmer
This solo build is used to hex an enemy boss behind a wall and
kill him without being attacked while maintaining energy through
the use of inspiration magic skills Spirit of
Failure and Spirit Shackles.
This build has been proven to work on:
Attributes and Skills
- Suggest a few optional skill(s) if you included an Optional
slot in the skill bar.
- A mesmer primary with a necromancer secondary Me/N also works
well.
- This build is still work in progress...
Equipment
- Radiant Armor
- Staff with +15 energy and +5^50 energy bonus
Usage
- The purpose of this build is to hex the target to death while
hiding behind a wall. Spirit of Failure is used to give you an
unlimited energy pool, while Spirit Shackles makes sure the target does
not enough energy to heal itself. The use of Soul Barbs allows any
casting of hexes to damage the target continually, while the
remaining hex spells are used for damage.
- Use Parasitic Bond to lure the target into
position.
- Once the target is within your aggro circle and stays behind a
wall or is blocked by a corner, cast the hex spells in the
following order: Soul
Barbs, Spirit of Failure, Price of
Failure, Spiteful Spirit, Reckless Haste,
Spirit
Shackles. Make sure all hexes are always maintained, especially
Spirit of Failure which gives you energy, and Soul Barbs which
damages the target whenever you cast a hex on it. When you have
free energy, you can quickly recast Parasitic Bond to damage the
target through the use of Soul Barbs.
- Some bosses are not reachable alone, so bring henchmen and
heroes with you and make your way there. You can also use them to
clear any unwanted mob around the boss, then flag them away outside
your radar range (so that their names are grayed out). This way
they do not sure any loot dropped by the target.
Counters
- This build cannot farm melee-type bosses or bosses that can
damage you directly through spells (elementalist, mesmer or
necromancer).

Notes
This was a well known build when Factions first came out, and is
similar to "Me/N Incetol Farmer" build. It may be best to merge
both build stabs together to create a more general Me/any build
that's based around the inspiration skills spirit of failure and
spirit shackles. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to
contact me in game. My IGN is Flaky Buster.
- Factions Campaign bosses:
Byzzr
Wingmender - Normal build. Start from Lutgardis Conservatory exit Melandru's
Hope, then head to the boss and stay behind the wall. After the
boss is dead, run in and quickly pick up the drop, as a mob will
spawn next to the boss.
Chkkr
Thousand Tail - Normal build. Make sure you do not have the
quest A New
Escort on you. Start from Saint
Anjeka's Shrine exit Drazach Thicket, then run past the group of
wardens and hug the trees found to your left without aggroing the
wardens and the mantis group coming from your right. Once the
mantis group leaves, lure the boss into the corner found at your
right, then hex him behind the wall. There's a 50% chance that the
warden group spawn will block your way, so don't hesitate to
repeat.
Flower
Spiritgarden - Normal build. You need to have more factions
than the side currently occupying the territory (eg more Luxon factions when Kurzicks control the area.
Start from Vasburg Armory exit The Eternal Grove
(Explorable). Run into the first mob in view and kill yourself.
You will then be resurrected to a rez shrine near the boss. Climb
the stairs next to the boss until your aggro circle reaches the top
of the stairs. Wait until the boss moves into your aggro range,
then start casting. If you get hit by the boss, move slightly back
and he will move himself such that he will be blocked by the rock
at the top of the stairs. Once the boss is dead, quickly grab the
loot and run out, as a mob will spawn near the boss's dead
body.
- Nightfall Campaign bosses:
Banor
Greenbranch - Normal build. Bring henchmen and/or heroes with
you. Start from Milanu Township exit Holdings of
Chokhin and work your way to the boss. Clear any mob around him
with henchmen, then flag them away. Use Parasitic Bond to
lure him into position. While hiding behind the rock (make sure he
can't hit you), start your casting sequence.
Commander
Sadi-Belai - Normal build. Bring henchmen and/or heroes with
you. Start from Kodash Bazaar exit Forum Highlands
to the east. Once you reach the boss with henchmen, clear every
monster around the boss then flag henchmen away. Use Parasitic Bond to
pull the boss so that he wands you behind a wall. Wait until he
casts Convert
Hexes to remove your Parasitic Bond, then start your casting
sequence with Spirit Shackles first instead. Keep casting
until he dies :P Don't forget the Do Not Touch treasure chest near him!
Hahan, Faithful Protector - Add Ignorance to your
skill bar and reduce your inspiration attribute to 10, curses to
15, soul reaping to 0 and put the rest into domination logic. Bring
henchmen and/or heroes with you. Start from Tihark Orchard
exit north and work your way to the boss. Clear any mob around him
with henchmen, then flag them away. Use Parasitic Bond to
lure him, then hug the wall to the left of you until you find a
small opening which you can barely fit yourself inside. This is the
only place you can hide from the boss. While hiding behind the rock
(make sure he can't hit you), start your casting sequence beginning
with Ignorance. Make sure that Spirit Shackles, Spirit of Failure
and Ignorance are always up, as the boss can use Purge Signet to
remove all the hexes you placed on it. This run can be done with Toshau
Sharpspear.
