This is a very versatile trapping build, I use it mostly for "pulling" with a hero b/p team. It takes advantage of high Expertise and Wilderness Survival, and the extra energy and poisoning length of Rotwing Recurve Bow to allow either spamming of traps by copying them with Arcane Echo and Echo prior to pulling, or extra run and healing skills for strait pulling. Its main strength is its versatility, and ability to survive tough pulls while dealing damage through use of traps and poison. (This build is also good for solo farming in the desert)

Usage

This is a very versatile build designed for pulling, quite forgiving. The idea is to use the 2 "copy" skills to add more of the other skills you need. Always cast Serpent's Quickness before pulling or begininng a trap sequence. Cast in 1,2,3 order the first 3 skills, this will give you 2 slots to copy either 2 traps or a combination of run skill or healing skills. (take care with the #2 slot it takes 2 seconds to cast, if you rush it and hit #3 too soon it will mess up the sequence) When your traps are set and you are ready to pull cast Apply Poison. As soon as you hit the first target with the bow cast either Troll Unguent or Storm Chaser as the situation calls for,and pull towards the traps. When traps are not used and the situation demands just pulling copy an extra speed and an extra run instead of traps, this gives very good survivability to pull with as you can both run and outregen hexs, crippling etc. with Troll Unguent. While not truly a farming build this build is good for gaining experience (and drops) by solo farming the desert, with near maxed Storm Chaser and Troll Unguent it is easy to rush in as the critters die and get the experience from your kill, this is harder with other trapping builds in my experience.

Counters

I like to keep a dust trap in reserve in case something runs past the traps. This gives you a chance to blind it and spam more barbed traps traps under its nose. This sort of "sneak attack" can take down some bosses well too, and even work in PvP. If you are interrupted while setting traps try to copy an extra healing or running skill, or both.(this can really save your butt when alone in the desert) This is very versatile build as far as counters go, you can run back and heal well if jumped by "pop ups". If you know ahead of time that you need to run/out regen a bit you can have extra of both ready(this is only way around some desert enemies if you are solo farming) If you are interrupted while trapping or mobbed any barbed traps you have placed will buy you time, and you will likely be able to copy either a run or heal skill at least as well.( Troll unguent takes a long time to cast, the copy is insurance against interrupts) Your healing is quite good with this build, and can out "regen" most hexs and conditions. Often some thing will get past your traps when pulling, or the traps will time out. If this happens and your group is mobbed, try to find a safe place close the enemy, behind minnions, warriors, etc. Quickly cast the first three skills, then cast and copy only barbed trap so you have 3 of them, hit storm chaser and troll unguent, rush in beside the enemy and cast Dust Trap, now spam as many Barbed Traps as you can. If this does not kill the mob it will at least slow it down and break it up so you can hopefully disengage and heal. (this can work too finish off many bosses as well)Dust Trap is a very good "escape" trap as well though its expensive in terms of energy. Often enemies will loose aggro when it is triggered allowing you to get away even while crippled, healing before running to out regen a hex etc..(solo farmers 2-3 hydras/drakes at time max, wurms are possible but slow, use the distance and/or arch from the long bow or flat bow, try to find a spot where they can`t hit you back and poison them. Try to interrupt the worms healing by changeing your timeing when shooting, they may try to heal when you recast apply poison)

Variants

There is not a lot of room to change things with this build. If only one trap is needed, you have room for a res. sig. Flame Trap alone (x3) is quite effective in some areas, try it with Winter to change to cold damage. If you are very good at pulling you can add a rune of superior marksmanship and swap out the longbow/flatbow for a vampiric bow.(Chiggens works well, up close) This will give at least a bit of punch vs enemies that don`t bleed or poison etc. and works well to finish off worms. Any Staff or focus that adds energy and health is good, put it in the F4 slot. While I don`t use it much, and its not required, its nice to have. It allows me to use my last energy then hit F4 to gain 15 more to heal, run, trap or apply poison before switching back to the Rotwing bow again, this does leave me with an energy deficite to wait out though. (I use a blue no req. focus to start a trapping sequence with 52 energy +2 regen I can lay traps a slight bit quicker this way and regen while pulling with the bow in hand again)

Notes

This build is evolved from the 2 builds below, it was originaly ment to use for pulling for my ranger hero b/p team. I use it a lot for farming either with heroes, or in the desert solo. It will work well too pull with any where, but if you want to use the trapping then you need a team with some patience.(ie: guildies) For this reason many may not find it suitable for PvE play with "puplic" teams.(many will not like the fact that it has no res either) A sturdy (+5 eng) Composite bow with a poison string and and max bowgrip of fortitude could be used in place of the Rotwing Rercuve. As with similar builds a staff/focus etc. with added energy gain and health will help with the pulling a bit too, with this build it will also speed the trapping very slightly over what is possible with just the Rotwing Recurve in hand.
